His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, received in audience Mr. Michiaki Hirose, Chairman of the Japan-Brunei Friendship Association (JBFA) and also as Senior Corporate Advisor, Tokyo Gas Company Limited. The Audience Ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman.
Also in attendance were Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy; Dato Seri Paduka Awang Mohd Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yunos, Deputy Minister for Civil Service Governance at the Prime Minister's Office; and Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Mohamad Azmi bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, Deputy Minister for Energy at the Prime Minister's Office.
His Majesty expressed appreciation to JBFA including Tokyo Gas Company Limited and Mitsubishi Corporation for playing an important role in the development of LNG industry in Brunei Darussalam and hoped that the longstanding strategic cooperation in the oil and gas sector would continue to be strengthened. Also present with the Chairman of JBFA were Senior Executive Members of Tokyo Gas Company Limited and Mitsubishi Corporation (Japan).
